Yeah, that about sums up the last week. Lots of driving into the middle of nowhere to pic up more parts for the gravel gobbler. Another thing it is gobbling currently is my bank account!
But it is worth it, besides a few seal kits and a new MAP Sensor, I am pretty good to go with building. Talking about the MAP Sensor, the local distributor of my bike brand can go eat a bag of dicks! They are asking for R2520 for a new one, when I can just go to AutoZone and get one for an Opel Corsa for R415. These guys really do just take the piss sometimes.
Anyway, back to the happy. The haul from last week consisted of a new front brake hose, LED 3 in 1 indicator/tail lights and a new single seat. The new lights are going to be bloody interesting to figure out how to wire up to an old version of this beast, but I have the internet, how hard could it possibly be?
I spent the free time I had over the weekend fishing the wiring out of the old handlebars and stripping them down to get ready for the new bars and possibly extending or even just replacing, but that is a problem for the future. I also spent the weekend trying to figure out where the rain was leaking into the workshop. But it seemed to becoming from the back corner, under the workbench, which is filled with so much crap. But, finally, to my relief I figured out it was not the rain that was creating the massive puddle on the floor, it was my primary oil. The damn clutch cable fell to the floor and with the bike being on it’s side stand it just syphoned the oil out, double sigh. I guess it is time to get the centre holder jobby thing out, even though I know I am going to continuously stub my toes on it.
