Yeah, that’s me, always on some weird side quest. It’s always either something awesome, or a menial task, like plumbing. I’m an excellent plumber, in my mind, in reality, hahaha, yeah, as long as there isn’t a drip, it’s good.
Last weekend was a none workshop weekend. At a dinner party on Friday night we decided that the weather looked good on Saturday and therefore we needed to go for a ride. The weather was okay-ish in the morning. We headed out to Old Town Motorcycles for some coffee and most of the way there was hidden in mist. Although, when gaining some height we got to see the beauty of our local area, always so amazing. Always good to head to Old Town, good chats about bikes and life, always good bikes to look at and the coffee is amazing (thanks Portland), and of course a sneaky beer 😉
After that we headed home to ditch the bikes and then carry on the day at Happy Folks at Eden on the Bay, rad place, good views, awesome food and of course great beer.
Sunday was a chilled day, I took the Donkey for a walk with her buddies and then hit the couch hard, the downtime was well deserved.

This last weekend was a little more worky. After postponing our ride out to Ronnie’s Sex Shop because of weather I hid in the workshop and hit the wire wheel again. I thing this is the only thing I will not miss after this build. There were plenty of “Fucks”, “Shits” & “Motherfuckers” thrown out there as the wire wheel bit me time and time again. I’m sure my new neighbours must be loving me.
The wheel work was for some switch covers I got my hands on and some bolt clean up. The switch covers I got were powder coated black, which meant it was possible to get them down to the raw aluminium to match the rest of the feel of the bike. My chrome ones where just never gonna get there. The bolts were cleaned up and blackened and the threads were all cleaned up. It never seems like much work, but hell, it sure does chew up the hours.

I also spent a lot of time debating whether or not I should keep the copper plated parts I have or have them stripped down to raw metal. I still haven’t made up my mind, so I guess this will be an ongoing battle for the foreseeable future.
